Fitness Pilates with Weights
Equipment: Light dumbbells and ankle weights, if you have them.
-Back strength
-Core strength
-Upper & lower body strength
-Full body stretch
Slow and controlled moves, chilled vibes
This class is more suited to lighter weights, but weights are optional and are not necessary to participate in the class
Try this recording of my popular weights based Fitness Pilates session where we focus on building core and back strength.
Holding weight on each limb has proved to be a game changer in terms of building deep core and all over back strength.
The moves we do, with the extra resistance, mimic the effects of using a reformer and are incredibly effective as a strengthening workout.
So if you have an old pair of ankle or wrist weights from aerobics or step 'back in the day' then dig them out, dust them off and get ready for a modern and effective twist on resistance training.
This is still an effective class without weights, so don't worry if you don't have any to use, but you may wish to invest in some for this class so you can focus on improving your core and back strength.
