Reduce Sugar Quickly
Have you just stumbled head first into a selection box?
Or simply realised that your diet is too high in sugar?
Here are 3 ways you can reduce sugar quickly:
Go for a walk.
If you just had a ‘sugar rich moment’ then put your shoes on straight away and go for a walk. The closer the walk is to the time you ate the better, so if you’ve enjoyed a big meal and dessert then head out for a walk as soon as you put your knife and fork down, and tidy your meal away when you get back. Walking at any time will help, but the closer to the end of your meal the better.
Do some squats.
Completing 10 squats every 45 minutes throughout the day has been shown to be more effective at reducing your blood glucose than taking a walk after your meal, but it is less practical.
Make your next meal low in sugar.
It’s easy to forget that sugar comes in savoury forms like rice, potato, pasta and bread so if you make your next meal low in savoury sugars that will help keep your sugar levels lower. A great, delicious and easy meal is chicken thighs (so easy in the airfryer) and broccoli, or salad with tuna.
The best way to avoid a sugar overload is to reduce your sugar intake. A low sugar diet will help stabilise your blood sugar and energise you, within a few days you’ll feel less bloated, lighter and brighter.
