Winter Arc

Have you heard about the Winter Arc?

The concept popped out at me right at the end of last winter and I made a mental note to look into it for this year.

It's a trend that younger generations are taking on and I really like the concept.

It's a 90-day transformation from October 1st to January 1st where discipline replaces comfort at a time where Hygge, coziness and an unwillingness to leave the house kicks in.

While others hibernate through this time, watching box sets and drinking spiced lattes, this trend is about showing up with consistency, pushing past excuses, and embracing healthy habits instead.

The idea is that by the time New Year’s resolutions roll around, you won’t be starting out, you’ll already be 90 days ahead.

Where the tip of the arc is meant to be I'm not too sure, it could be at the New Year point, where you can take a little breather for Christmas then head straight back in to healthy habits for another 3 months and reap the benefits as spring arrives.

Or it could end at the end of the year, leaving you 10 steps ahead before embarking on new year resolutions.

Either way, this suits me perfectly and you might feel the same, so have a think - what can your healthy habits be for this period of time?

• A daily walk

• Getting to bed earlier

• Less scrolling and more reading

• Good daily hydration

• Less sugar

• More exercise

• Practicing alcohol-free

• No ultra processed food

• Learning a new language or skill

I much prefer the idea of implementing multiple healthy habits, focusing on introducing a new one weekly rather than going on a diet/fitness fest as I know the healthy habits will deliver greater results.

The sky's the limit - will you join in and which of these daily healthy habits will you choose to implement during the winter arc?
